Travel & Leisure / Hotels / Singapore Hotels 2 comments

(P.S: Sorry for any disturbances the advertisements above may have caused you)
Singapore hotels are projected to face an abundance of demand over supply for the next few years. Already, hotels are facing a shortage of rooms in July and this is going to get worse come September when the IMF and World Bank convene in Singapore.

On the demand side, given the springing up of the two IRs at Marina and Sentosa over the next five years, plus the revamping of Orchard Road --- all part of a renewed effort to promote the inflow of foreign retail money (ie. tourism) --- the demand for hotel rooms is likely to remain strong. Check out my writeup in my HotTrendsWatch blog on "Hotels in Demand". The tourism target is to double annual tourist arrivals over current figures, by 2015.

It is interesting to note that the greatest shortage of rooms is seen in the three-star hotel segment where room shortage is most glaring. A list of Singapore hotels by star classification, and down to budget hotels and airport (specialty) hotels, is provided below:

5-star

4-star

3-star

Cheap/budget

Airport
